Bedruthan Steps is a well known tourist beauty spot but less known (used) by surfers. This is a low to mid tide beachbreak which gets totally submerged by water at mid to high tide, so if you want to conquer its waves keep your eyes on the incoming tide. Only way to it is by the steep flight of stairs (see photo). Rips occur if conditions are bigger. Wave quality is average but because of the earlier mentioned hazards, not suitable for beginners. People have lost lives at this place, so be extra careful and you will live to tell the tale of how you surfed this beautiful and unique beach.
From Newquay, take the coastal road B3276 north, passing Watergate Bay - nice view, and Trenance, after which you need to follow the sign to the either National Trust car park or additional car park further on (both carry charges). From there, walk to the beach and enjoy the views!
High season: Toilets and light refreshments in the National Trust hut but apart from that not much else. Please Note: There is no lifeguard service on this beach.
All year: Lovely views
:)
