Hi first Time poster,
This is my first year surfing after getting the bug last year when holidaying in Perranporth, I live in somerset so I usually go down to woolacome every weekend to surf.
After learning to pop up, but by no way am i great, I decided to buy a board the guy in surfedout in Braunton said because Im 5' 4" and weigh 11 stone, that I cud progress well on a 6' 6" fish made buy Hawaian Soul, cheap and cheerful , but custom board.
I ended up getting a 6' 4" down the line fish.
I went to wooly yesterday and it was between flat and a 1ft.
Didnt get very far with it, and noticed that everyone else was out on 8ft longboards or foamies, so i hired a 7 ft 9 bic and got on a bit better, but there still wasn't much waves to be had!

Is this a case of rubbish conditions not helping me alot or have I been given some dodgy advice.
Im still going every week and im down for a whole week for the boardmaster although I'l probably be in the quiter beaches as I'm not a big fan of the Ibiza culture that Newquay seems to have adoped.
So I've got plenty of opportunity to practise.

Also, im a big indie, Rock and metal music fan, is there an pubs or club in the area with that kinda of vibe? Laid back pubs are my sort of thing, and no im not an old man, im only 26.
