I think this is a great deal on the face of it, but I do feel that it is somewhat small for learning. Also, number of surfable days will be greatly reduced, as you will need clean and steep waves in order to be able to paddle into them.

On the other hand, check on eBay what package like this could be sold for keeping in mind that demand for surfboards will rise in summer months, as great many of us rediscover surfer within. You might be able to re-sell this for some profit.
