Evening Beach Closure

I was talking to my boss the other day, who visits Newquay reguarly. He seems to think that the police have now been given new powers to close the beaches at night, stopping any beach parties.

Anyone heard anything similar???

The only thing i heard was there was going to be more of a police presence around Newquay this Summer, starting from the last Bank Hoiday.

The only problem i have with the beach parties is people leave to much litter on the beach.

As Stormrider says, there's more of a police presence in the town and on the beaches. They'll find it hard to close the beaches at night. I also agree the main problem is the litter from the parties. I had to pick up loads of glass after a surf the other week before someone injured themselves. I wish people would have more respect when they visit places

Personally I wish they would close them.

Don't want to be a spoilt sport but things have got way out of hand.

I think the council really need to rethink this Ibiza South West idea. Its just spoiling Newquay and driving the genuine visitor / surfer away.

There was something on the BBC website the other day saying that the poleese have now got a dispersal order for one of the beaches in Newquay, so that they can move people on & stop drinking / parties on the beach. Seem to remember it's already come into force

Slo-mo

Since i been visiting Newquay for the surf, the night life has honestly got worse with alot of louts.. Sorry if that sounds like a insult.

I did though see heck alot more police, Used to not see one but so far they in every round reminds me of home and watching my back every 5 seconds from yobs.
