I used to go in sometimes in winter up on the Norfolk coast where I used to live, on Kneeboard or Waveski, but not very often - that North sea is freezing, and there's hordes of people fishing off the beaches in Winter, BUT, since I discovered the joys of a Longboard this year, I ain't planning on stopping at all through the winter

But I might invest in a Winter suit this year

The other thing you have to learn to do if you surf the North sea, is to surf with your mouth shut

hey! it's not that bad anymore actually and i wouldn't say it was totally freezing in the north sea - i can get away with wearing a 3/4 summer suit, gloves and boots in winter and i'm fine must be a hard northern lass

It wasn't the water temperature that used to get me Starfish, it was the biting easterly winds that you seem to get all winter in Norfolk

Mind you, I've had some wicked sessions in Dec/Jan when the suns been out and the wind has died down a bit

yeah, wind chill can be a bit of a problem - especially when you've got out the sea and you're getting changed by your car

That's why you get yourself a camper or a big car to get changed in... non-of that holding your towel whilst squeezing out of your suit!! Ah, happy freezing cold days - watch out for the frost bite though (especially you boys!!)

yeah, 206 probably isn't the best car to take surfing! still fits a 7'6'' minimal in though

Always surfed in the winter!!!!

Finally bought myself a decent winter suit begingin of the year, until then used a cheap GUL hire suit from where i worked!!
Lovin the new winter suit tho- so much warmer and much more flexible!!!

Remember a few years back- had a good session at Harlyn, came out and couldnt move my fingers, couldnt open the car AND couldnt take my wetsuit boots off- so drove home in them lol (and my suit) i could have cried i was so cold

AND the OH SO HORRIBLE ICE CREAM HEADACHES
Always wear boots, bought some decetn o'neil gloves too, but never worn a 'twat' cap YET (lol theres still time i guess )

Had a Mazda BONGO around march time this year- it was great- it had an elevating roof, and heaters in the back, also electric blinds, so you could stand up and get changed in the warmth!!!
Defo thinking about gettin one again!!

Myself and Hipps are definatly Winter surfers. It does help though if you have a Winter wetsuit, boots, gloves and maybe a hood.

By the way the temp of the sea around Newquay has dropped loads yesterday.
