I spent my Winter in Bali and Oz last year, i left in Nov and came back in May. I learnt to surf in Bali so i have never surfed in winter b4 and really need some motivation to get myself in the water this winter! I surfed through October but now i've come to a stand still! I dont have a winter wet suit or boots or gloves. I'm going to bali again in March and the thought of not surfing till then is painful. Is it really bad in the winter? Any girls out there who brave it through this evil season of ice! I know that if i dont continue surfing this winter it'll be like starting all over again next itme i get in the water. HELLLLLLLLLPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!

of course i was in at tynemouth yesterday wearing a 3mil wettie and boots, didn't really need gloves. the water was 10 degrees and the air was 7. as long as you keep moving in the water you're going to be ok. the hard bit is getting changed after you get out.
but, yeah, i surf throughout the year, mainly in winter. january/february is the most tough! but my 3mil bodyglove bliss has never let me down

We surf all year round here though in the summer it can get a bit flat & crowded so we go snorkelling instead
dont know about a bbq but its become a 'tradition' to surf xmas morning and new years day. Usually at Polzeath and theres a good crowd too
