I've been out in winter a couple of times but I'm not going to make a habit of it. I borrowed a mates winter wetsuit so it wasn't as bad as it could've been but to those of you how have been out in your normal gear, I salute you

i prefer it in alot of ways, the only thing i dont like about winter surfing is the lack of lifeguards!!

its nice in some boardies and a rash vest but when the sea is 'better' and less corwded theres no contest

because i lived up north, yorkshire up north, lol, that really is the best and only time up there. and whenever i came to cornwall to surf wiv my m8, we wud go at back end of summer til we cudnt hack crashing in her van in the freezing cold any longer, lol.i always thought it were best in winter and still do,even tho i dont relish icecream head and brain, we once did go 2 cornwall at the height of summer, n we hardly surfed coz surprise surprise it were flat, lol. plus, we got into winter surfing coz unfortunately in the early nineties, there were quite a lot of animosity towards us both coz we were girlies for a start, and that made us more determined to sort of prove we weren't wimpy, lol, and a few times we were made not welcome coz we werent local, lol. not just in cornwall, in wales, even where we lived, so winter surfing became the norm for us.
