Too much 'Point Break' for you me thinks ...
Unless well lit by floodlights or a bright full moon in 'some' conditions, even a seasoned surfer would think twice about night surfing ...

dangerous and... er dangerous.
who's going to see you if you get in trouble? tbh, i've never seen floodlit beaches though, so i dont know in that respect

Every year near Newquay they do do a night surf contest where they light up the beach & the surf with huge floodlights which is really cool, but obviously they also have lifeguards who normally finish at 18:00 hrs.
Actually I think its Polzeath.

As for night surfing...as i think i once said,i tried to surf in benidorm at 5 - 6 am after coming out of the clubs......I was on a sun lounger though.....sank  I am ashamed

Just read in surfer how andy irons,occy and the gang all had a bit of a night surf
