im glad its rainning down there, were having a heat wave,its the only wave we get round here apart from someone waving at you cos your house has just been robbed, im looking at the dint that suddenly appeared on my new board, cant seem to see anything else but that dint, are you still swobbling with that woman thats got the sports car??? i think its KAZ!!! what you doing now??? dusting or smoking and drinking coffee

Hey Punkie I just got back from a week of rain in Newquay too and it sucks. I'm just up the road from you in derby where the sun is shinning hard. Typical isn't it!! I think I may have to come back down.

Whats the problem with you lot and the weather? Dont you know, some of the best waves appear when the weather bad and theres a low pressure. My last two weeks in Newquay have been pretty poor, but the waves weren't too bad for me to learn on, and I still managed to get a half decent tan

First week the weather was a bit s**ty but the waves were not bad and the second week we had the sun.!

The diary didn't happen guys... i did start it for the first two days, but finding the time was a nightmare. By the time I got in at night, after a few bevvies in the Safi bar I was too wrecked to write. I will try to remember most of it though.

Saturday 26th - Nightmare journey as usual. Brilliant progress until Bristol then practically ground to a halt. Set off at 4.30am arrived 12.45pm. Stopped a couple of times, but it still took a lifetime.

Sunday 27th - Weather bright & breezy. Arrived for my lesson bright and early only to find I was the only one who turned up. So I had a one to one lesson with my instructor (Frances Carter, one time British Ladies Champion). Not sure wether this was to my advantage or not. Yes I had her full instruction, but my god, she worked me like a dog. For two and a half hour I pushed and pulled, jumped and paddled like the devil. Unfortunately tho guys, I didn't get on my feet. I was so dissappointed, but I was totally exhausted and after pulling a muscle in my leg and one in my chest, I just didn't have the strength to go on any longer. I have never been so weary in my life and it took me twenty minutes to get my wetsuit off,

It didn't put me off though, it was the greatest feeling in the world to be in those waves, and I now have to concentrate on the yoga DVD. yeah?

Monday 28th - Couldnt get out of bed this morning, needed assistance from others. I once got hit by a car when I was in my teens, I didn't feel this bad then. My arms and legs refused to cooperate with my brain, even lifting a cup caused problems. The hotel is nice but full for pensioners, gettin in the way (not tolerant of OAP's). Hobbled to beach and vegitated.

Tuesday 29th - Not sure weather its the lesson or the concrete bed thats causing problems, but body is still refusing to function right. Weather still bad so went to Eden Project(again). If you have ever been, don't go again! Nothing has changed in two years, and because of the torrential rain, we were stuck in the domes with all the pensioners visiting Newquay, who had also decided to visit the place at the same time. Total hell!! The highlight of the trip was me gettin caugh trashing a plant. I thought it was a tough vine, and was showing my son how Tarzan swung through the jungle, but it wasn't and snapped after a couple of tugs. It was just my luck that one of the workers saw me and promptly rushed over to ask me not to kill the plants (well it was either that or the pensioners!) I had to go out and stand in the rain to get away from them. What a waste of £30.

Weds 30th - Suffering from cabin fever now! Can't get out much coz of the rain, so started with some retail therapy. That took up a lot of the day and a lot of my money.

Skipped to Fri 1st - The sun is out so I'm hittin the beach with a vengeance. Down to fistral to watch how its really done. Spent some more money in the village. Really impressed with the new centre. But found that the really beautiful and cool people hang out on the balconies. Not watching the comp, just sitting around trying to look cool and chilled. Couple of showers but none to worry bout. The child from hell has hooked up with the Jackass girls and havent seen him all day. He turned up hours later with a bag full of freebies (Mars choccie milk, Fructis hair gel etc)so we had sustinance for half the beach for ages. He wanted to bring it back home to sell at school (very enterprising my lad) but talked him into giving it away.

Bought a wetsuit, but not sure when I'm gonna get to wear it. Still not fully recovered

i know what you mean about spending money in newquay! i stayed with s.o.hippie free of charge and still managed to spend £900 in one week but i did have a good time and come back with a new board

Sat 2nd - Fistral again, some very moisturising men down there, if you get my drift. Decided to do a bit of bodyboarding today. The waves were'nt too bad, but surprise, surprise, pulled the muscle again. Seriously thinking of topping myself!! Mu husband thinks I'm putting it on, but I'll show the bleeder!! If I have to wait till next year I'll show him. He did buy a shortie and likes to bodyboard, but didn't try surfing. Wuss!
