Doomed to wander Truro forever

Help me please!

I'm a Truro lad and I've fallen in love with Newquay. My dumbass friends don't like the place so I always end up going out there on my own.

I love the sea and the atmosphere of Newquay, but being shy I find it difficult to head out there and enjoy it by myself. Can anyone offer me any advice on how to 'break-in'?

I've been to a couple of the clubs, but being shy I'd find it difficult to go without company of some sort. Newquay is one place I'd consider living, so becoming familiar with it would be great.

NEWQUAY ROCKS!

Have a word with Hippie, I'm sure he can ease you in gently, and introduce you to some folks down there.

Know how you feel about the place, I only get there once a year, and it kills me to come back here. I have friends who live in The Key, and myself got married there three years ago. To me its home.

I have found that folks in the Key are really friendly (not the tourists) so I don't think you will have any trouble.

Thanks guys!

I work for an elderly persons charity, so I'm used to the older generation. (just kidding )

The reason I specified mid-20's is because most of my friends are younger or older than me. Since I'm looking to mix with new people anyway, I thought it would be nice to spend some more time with people my own age. I won't rule out people because of their age though.

I know this site is mostly designed for surfing and I would honestly like to have a go one-day. I'm a bit self-conscious and I'm putting it off until I've toned up a little. I'm not overweight, but I need a bit of work. When I was younger (and more fit) I used to swim a lot - I love the water. In the meantime though, I'd like to see some other places.

Any suggestions would be a help. My experience of Newquay so far is a couple of clubs (Tall Trees + Springbok), Newquay Zoo (long time ago) and the Blue Lagoon (even longer time ago). I've had a poke around the shops, but I don't spend enough time there to see everything.

Thanks again!
