Beach babe wants place to stay

Hi there everybody.

I am wanting to go down to Newquay for a holiday and learn to surf this summer. But I am finding it really hard to find a place to stay as I am coming on my own as my friends can't come with me. I have rang quite a few places and there doesn't seem to be anywhere so far for one person! I don't want to camp on my own obviously so does anybody have any suggestions? Also, would I be better to go elsewhere in Cornwall or Devon as I know Newquay gets booked up quick. I should also mention that I am coming a long distance (from Sheffield) and that I am 32 years old (I know some places are only for certain age groups)I also can't afford expensive hotels as a student. Well anyhow I hope somebody can point me in the right direction!

Hi crystalsurf

There are loads of surf shacks / hostles that will take single bookings, i will try and find you some phone nembers in a mo. You could try ringing the tourist info, they may be able to find you a place.

Cool

Hi Crystal,

Speaking from experience, the best place that i have stayed in Newquay has got to be "Matt's Surf Lodge", check out their web-site (http://www.matts-surf-lodge.co.uk/) or call them on 01637 874651. They were fantastic, me and a couple of the lads have stayed there loads of times..

Give them a go.

Don't like my waves messy or my rooms!

Okay, have stayed in tent, have stayed in caravan, have stayed in lodge but now want to stay somewhere decent! But being an independant woman I want it cheap...

Anywhere near Pentire? Chilled, clean and not full of townies!

Can't be bothered to trawl through these threads so give me top line please!

Also anyone know of anywhere decent near Croyde?

Hugs
