Base surf lodge

Me and some friends are thinking of going to Base Surf lodge next summer just wanted to know if there is a kitchen to use as we don't have the cash to eat out every night. I've looked at previous threads and the website but it isnt clear. So anyone that has been there before:
>>is there a kitchen?
>>is it good for 16 yr olds?
>> how long does it take to walk to fistral beach from there

any comments welcome thanx x

Send a message via MSN to Fasten your Seatbelt
Ill try to help best I can!
> Theres not a kitchen u have access too. But somerfields is just round the corner so u can make cheap sarnies or use there bbq
>Yea it would be great for 16yr olds, dont know whether ure going for the surf or the nightlife. But if u wana go surfing they can sort out lessons with the place next door (really good fun!) or if its the nightlife they got their bar in the loungy type area which is great after a days chilling. And u can just about blag free drinks if ure up for a bit of truth or dare
>Fistral like a 3/5min walk

Hope that helps a bit x

i stayed in base for one night in late september. i was down wanting to surf so i kinda needed some decent sleep and the place was SO loud in the night i couldn't sleep well. also, with sharing rooms you don't much privacy. it would be ok if you were there for a party party time but i wouldn't recommend it if you wanna get some surfing in. we ended up relocating to newquay surf lodge on the other side of town! much quieter with good facilities - they have a kitchen!

Yea we were thinking about going to newquay surf lodge, but it is quite far away from Fistral beach. We are going there mainly to party so we wouldnt mind a loud place, we wanna be near Fistral though because of surfing (altho very badly) and checking out the fit surfers.

"Fasten your seatbelt" that helps loads thnks cant wait to go

Go there!

I would definately recommend BASE. I stayed there for a week last year with 3mates and had an awesome time. Especially considering u're age ( we were 16 ) its brilliant - they are really friendly and the guys that run it hav a good laugh with u. As above - Somerfield is just round the corner and cheap! They serve drinks all night and have a really good atmosphere. It is a bit rowdy - if u want sleep then stay somewhere else - if u want an awesome time stay at BASE!

Hope this helps - what date u goin?

stayed in base last week for a week, was awesome, lots of people there over the bank holiday, from south africa to australia!
basically a house with a communal lounge down stairs, can be dead in the offseason months but i should imagine its pumping throughout the summer!
the guy chris runs it, he's sound and will hav a fun time with you.
apparently he's trying to sell it though an almost did the other week!
the lodges arent half as snazzy as they appear to be off the websites though, so dnt get too excited! haha
alot of them also seem to be closing down which is a shame
make sure you phone them to book and not do it over the internet becuase alot of them wont shut the websites!
all in all though had an awesome time there an would totally go again!
