Newquay Reef Surf Lodge

Me and a few mates will be going to Newquay in Summer 2007 and are staying at the Newquay Reef Surf Lodge on Springfield Road. If anyone on the Forum has been there or knows anything about the hotel, could I have some feedback please?

Many thanks

To quote someone in the 'Reef Surf Lodge?' thread:

hi just come back from a stay at reef surf lodge, ok. the rooms where small an the rules r quite tight but we broke every 1 except no smoking an aslong as you dnt cause any damage they dont rli care. Worth a stay its clean tidy an staff are friendly but if you are a surfer go for sumwhere like cribber close 2 fistral but worth a stay if u wanna be in the twn centre but close enough to walk to the beach x x

That must be new then as the only Reef Surf Lodge I know is on BERRY ROAD as you come up from CLIFF ROAD on the right ...

As you go down TOR road on your left as you come up BERRY ROAD then SPRINGFIELD cuts across TOR ROAD ... so are you sure you haven't got the roads wrong here as they are very close !?!!

Christ the map on their website doesn't even match the road layout or other roads in that area ... looking at their map it looks like its by the railway station yet the postal address on the home page says otherwise ...

Hmmmmmm, very strange this one. As I won't be home till April / May I can't look for you so sorry ...

Anyone else out there can help ???

Is it not just two different lodges?

I have just noticed that on the Newquay Reef Surf Lodge, they say it an 18 minute walk to Fistral.

I beg to differ.

It appears 'REEF' have 3 Surf lodges/hotels ... Reef Island - Reef Lodge - And Reef Beach ... I dont think Newquay Reef Surf Lodge is the same as any of these and I have heard 'REEF' are very strict ... NRSF is more laid back and however perhaps not as....hmmm....attracttive?
