We're moving up North to develop our business in Sheffield, so our house in Newquay is for sale.

Built in the 1940s, it's the classic three-bed detached bungalow with two bay windows and a pyramid-shaped roof. Set on a south-facing slope overlooking the Trenance boating lake and beyond to the Gannel estuary.

Along with double glazing and a new roof in recent years, the house has had a loft conversion. This turns the third ground floor bedroom into a stairwell and lobby, but adds two good-sized 'loft spaces', which we use as an office/spare room and a bedroom.

Otherwise there are two double bedrooms downstairs, a lounge to the front and a big kitchen/diner behind. Utility room outside for laundry. Oh, and a bathroom plus toilet, naturally.

Full central heating from a combi gas boiler. Good-sized garden which gets every ray of sunlight going, with a workshop, greenhouse and another shed.

Seven minutes' walk from Towan beach, but just over the hill from town itself, so you live in quiet suburbia rather than the Ibiza-esque mayhem of Newquay in the season.

Oh deary, I saw one of those yesterday. Dreamers trying to do unfeasible stuff in Andalucia. At least Newquay is a realisable one. We found that for occasional business, the air link is damn good and the roads not as bad as those who travel at peak times would have one believe. London in 4 hours dead, Sheffield in 5 hours. Mind you, the run to my mate's in Perthshire was a bit of an epic...
