I make Hollow Wooden Surfboards for a pastime from South Devon. This is not a business, but a hobby. If you would be interested in having a 100% custom build balsa surfboard, please PM me for further info.

I cannot stress enough, this is not a business, and I have a couple of threads in the Shaping room in this Forum which show the type / quality of boards I build.

Hi, thanks for the question. When you say ' can it be safe enough ' I assume you are referring to use of balsa. This build technique has been around for over 50 years. Balsa chambering for even longer. On average, wooden boards are 25% stronger than Foam boards simply because of their materials & construction. Should you get a leak, the board wont sink, only slow down!!
