Hi

It depends what you want, i have stayed there over the Run To The Sun weekend before and it was ok although alot of people say its a bit crap, full of people drinking, being sick then drinking again (that may be what your after of cause..)
If your looking to go into Newquay or to any beaches other than porth you will need a car or alota money for taxis or buses as its a few miles to walk it.
If you are after a quite week to surf just go to watergate and camp.

Smugglers Haven-I don't think so!

Whatever you do, don't go to Smugglers haven. It may have changed by now, but my group of friends and i planned our week to newquay when we were about 16(its the done thing-rite)Got there, our van was s**t, we're talking blood on sheets, flooded drawers, rubish everywhere, no lights, leaks and a bad,bad stink. Funnily enough we complained-only to find a massive que of people complaining about the same thing. They were completely useless and we didn't receive any compensation-nor did any of the others. It was so bad we couldn't even stay there, and so that was the end of our holiday in Newquay-not good.
Although, it may have changed!?
My advise is head for the smaller camp-sites, may not be packed with sexy young men/women but at the end of the night you've had your fun with them(if thats what you want)and you can go back to a nice, friendly, clean caravan and get some sleep for that surfing the next day!

Does any one know what the facilities on the site are like? Im not expecting saunas and jacuuzi's, but i wouldnt mind a decent block of toilets with decent showers, and somewhere to wash the plates after dinner etc.

Mate has got a brochure, and ive been on the smugglers website, but neither show pictures of the site, or list whats on the site

Cheers in advance

Rob

Smugglers haven

Hiya, I'm sorry I can't help much as we really didn't get that far. Just saw the sight of our caravan and knew we couldn't stay. The reception seemed nice and all the expensive caravan park area looked nice aswell, I'm sorry but I very much doubt that the toilets/showers in the scabby caravan area can be up to much. Please let me know how it goes, it would be nice to know they've cleaned their act up as we nearly took them to court over it!
