Where to camp (Im getting rusty)

My knowledge on camping is getting rusty!

My plans have changed, rather than coming down this weekend sleeping in car on my own for surf.

I delayed my visit to bank holiday weekend so I have more time!
Friday to Moinday.
YAY!

But.. bringing the missus's, so we cant crash in car.. she just wont do it!

We last stayed at Hendra but its got alot crap we don't use. and was expenses.

For 3 nights for Bank holiday Weekend 24 May 08, we need a campsite.

Something cheap and cheerful, thats real close to Newquay/Fristral.

Side note... Not sunnyside (did that with the lads, was like monkeys let loose in a zoo).
Prefebly no clubbing, mental tennager let loose campsite.

I'm not old, but can do without people all drunk, running around naked and singing till 5am in the mourning.

I just want surf!... Respecting the locals and joining in with their ways

Hiya WazMeister!!

I usually stay in a campsite at Penvose farm, which is about a mile up the hill from Watergate Bay next to the airport. I think it costs about £5 oer night. It is a bit basic but has always been reasonably quiet when I have been there, although that is usually in September. It can be a bit noisy as the runway for the airport is just over the hedge!!! You get used to it............!!!

This may be a bit far from Fistral for you unless you use your car.

Hope this helps!!

Al

cool

Thanks for reply my friend!

Just checking their site, not much detail on it.

I'm presuming there is washing, Shower and Toilet facilities to use if camping?

Dioes not mention on the site.

Sounds good if it's got all thos,.

It stats £5 quid per night, that per person or per tent?

Know of any other sites like this?

Was one I stayed at ages ago,.... forgot the name or where it was.

me and a few friends stayed there..... was nice and close by and had buses to newquay at night if u wanted to go clubbing or just have a meal with a glass of wine.

Forgot it now.....

No problem mate!

I think it is £5 per person.

There are showers and toilets on site. There are potacabins at the bottom with seperate male / female toilets and a shower block. However there are some nicer showers next to the farmhouse. There are also so washing up stations dotted around for crockery etc.

As mentioned before it is a bit basic but my friends and I quite like it as there are no drunk kids running around........just remember the air port.

There is also a fishing lake!!

I don't really know of any other campsites other than the big ones like Hendra etc.

Hope you find something

Al

i've stayed at penvose a few times and it's nice if you just want a quiet campsite with basic facilities it's pretty much the closest thing you'll get into town

Would like a nice meal with a few glasses of wine with the missus...

But hoping taxi won't cost much.

a taxi from the airport is about £15 so probs about the same i'd reckon..and yeah theres no curfew cos there's not really a "front gate" as such - just different entrances into various fields through gates!
