Just thinking...
Hi, I've just been thinking about the site and why I don't use it as much as I should. I think the main reason is I don't feel like I have a lot to say, since I don't know much about surfing.
I've also been nervous about posting, because the general forum is called Surf Chat and I don't really know anything. My experience on other sites has been that you get abuse and 'wrong forum' messages for putting up something different to the forum's theme. Reassurance from a friend has put my mind at rest and hopefully I'll be here a little bit more.
I don't know a lot about the production of websites, but I was wondering how hard it would be to set-up a surfing friend finder section, so people can search for surf buddies in their area. I guess you could let the owners of surf shops advertise on it too, so you can find suppliers in your area. Then maybe you could have a success section, where you post stories of successful matches - maybe even ending up in marriage. Aww...
I also think a page should be dedicated to Sad? Old Hippy and Seaslave1, who keep the forums interesting. I think they're part of the personality of the site. Maybe you could put up some of their words of wisdom for all to see.
Sorry to ramble, but this stuff was just rolling off the top of my head.
