is my board to small for me?

I dont admit to know alot about surfing but i recently brought my first short board and I got measured up for it I am 12.5 stone 5'10" . I recieved my board and I specifically asked they make it a bit longer than usual and a bit wider because i was new to short boards. The board I recieved from the company was 6' 10" x 20" x 2.5". Do you think this is to small for me becuase i recently tested it out and I feel a sinking motion when riding a wave.

thanks alot

Jon

It should carry your weight without any problems mate. My guess is the power in the wave isn't enough, summer slush at the mo. I have to do loads of tramping to bet my 6'2" going in the summer. I tend to use my trusty minimal during the summer.
