asbo's and polzeath beach

ok well i have been coming to newquay for about 6 years now and every year we all like to go down to polzeath beach after the bars kick out and have a few beers and a smoke. not causing any noise or aggravation. is all this asbo bollox gonna be effecting people going there or are the police just moving on the rowdy chavs? which we are not.

it will be a real shame if thats the case as i have many a fond memory from there.

let me know local peeps

ezee.

also i am playiin the koola on the 10th aug if you want some dnb vibes with nicky blackmarket.

Unfortunatly the rowdy chavs has caused the crack down of the police moving people off the beaches.

I also used to like being with my friends on the beach, around midnightish, just chilling out.And we never left litter or disturbed anyone, most people did not know we were there or had being there. But a small minority has spoiled it for us.I think the days of chilling on a beach on summer nights are over.

Well I wasn't shifted of PERRAN SANDS last weekend when they local Police rolled in with a 4x4 & they weren't deaf to the bongs & campfire smoke going up from the local dunes either some two hundred yards away.

However nearer NEWQUAY could be different from past incidents of the small minded ruining it for the rest as STORMY says ...

Putting this VERY SIMPLY ...

To get an ASBO, which effects a person not a place, a lot of information and intelligence, course of conduct etc. needs to be gathered before things can be put in motion with the courts etc. to grant one.

A dispersal notice however for a given area can be put in a lot easier which gives Police ( Both PC's & PCSO's) powers to disperse or arrest people in dispersal areas who refuse to leave, move on or return within 24 hours which i think if its going to happen will be more likely. These are cropping up everywhere in LONDON & can be used in alcohol banned areas too.

Best thing to do matey is when your down ask around or one of the local officers

yea

Gotta admit this year is first year since I been coming to newquat where police are down every road..

Remeber beginning of last year it was so lovely no need for police, Now theya re everywhere and from what I see i'm not surprised.

Sometimes ejoy winter times in newquat surfing rather than summer because its so chilled out.
Last time I went Fristal beach had bins nicked for burning fires.. like NYC tramp style.

Only problem the bins are plastic and so they was destroyed.... Did not go down too well I don't think.

Very silly its like nicking a bin from your mates house and lighting it up.

Well...
Went down poleath the other evening about 8ish, went down in the beach buggy- desperate to give it a blast on the sand, and the beach was packed!!!!! Also there was 2 police cars and a riot van- this was on a TUESDAY night!!!
Most of the people were 'Yar's' heading down the beach to get drunk, and most were underage, gettin dropped of by their parents in the MERC estate cars.
we left around 11 and it was still really really busy and ppl were still gettin dropped off.

Shame as polzeath was a great quite place to go in the eveing- but police have closed other beaches near-by, so everyone from rock and daymer bay now flock in their thousands to Polzeath.

Grrrrrrrr it makes me mad

Had a chat to the local copper- not a problem goin on the beach chillin etc! so thats good news!

I take it Yar's are rich public school kids?.I have never heard of the term Yar's before.

Its a shame that chavs and yars are spoiling things for the rest of us.

You got it- rich kids who dont say 'yes' they say 'yar'
Used to work in the surf shop on the beach- they would come in talking really loud thinking they own the place, wearing either light pink or blue polo shirts (or rugby) with the collars turned up!!

Yeh its a real shame- Polzeath has completly changed- cannot believe the differance.
I have serfed there since Noah was a lad and quite often had a bbq or whatever on the beach in the evening, but you'd be lucky to find a spot on the beach at all now!

Lets hope they keep the beach clean- Cant stand people leaving rubbish on the beach!

Yes,i have seen the Yars around. At least we have a name for them now.I feel a bit guilty now though,as i have polo shirts as one of my products. If anyone sees some Yar's wearing a Barracuda Surfwear Polo Shirt, and is making a ass of themselves.I might consider taking the polo shirts off my shop.

As most of the regular members here.We are with you about people leaving rubbish on the beaches.
