Regular blasts of TNT in the water around where you surf should cure the shark problem

Talking Durbs is great!

The water is always friendly in durban - we have shark nets and the waters always warm so don't worry about a wet suit in durbs! As for transporting a board - i got mine transported to nz in a crate with all the furniture so i'm of no help there. I did transport a guitar (hard case) on board but a surf board is a little bigger! lol lots of bubble wrap and fragile stickers might help it in the cargo deck! good luck and i know you'll have a fab time in SA!

Wasn't it South Africa where someone was consumed by a Great White the other week?

The water might be friendly but the fish certainly aren't!

You should get your board on a plane no problem just phone a few airlines but be prepared to pay for excess baggage!

Only other way I could think of would be to send it parcel post to where you are staying but I doubt it would be any cheaper and customs might like to know why you subsequently send it back.

The again you could hire a yacht, sail the seas for a few weeks and....no!

Seriously, I think you'll have to bite the bullet and pay the baggage.

Al.

Cape town sea not so friendly

in south africa, there was a shark attack yes but as far as i can remember it was always in cape town - the great whites feed off seal island. durban is a different story and great!!!!
