I'm Coming Home!!!
Hi All,
I'm new to this site. Well, i've been reading it for a while but i'm new to posting!!
I grew up down in Wadebridge, i left 5 years ago for Uni and kinda got stuck up in the grotty industrial city that is Preston, Lancashire! Starting next week i'm taking a two week intense driving course (4 hours a day of driving lessons!) once i pass my test i'm buying a car, handing in my notice at work - throwing all my gear in the boot and moving back to the best, most beautiful, chilled out place in the world...Cornwall!!!
I'm so excited, i cant believe it's been so long! for the past five years i've just been coming down for a couple of weeks in the summer. i cant wait to get the old wetsuit out and start surfing again, especially towards the end of the summer when we start getting some weather pushing the swell size up.
My local beach is Polzeath, but my mum and little sis (who's a much better surfer than me, even though she's only 12!) have just moved to Newquay so i'll be chillin around there quite often i'd imagine.
So, i just thought i'd say hi, and share my excitement that in as little as 4-5 weeks i could be back in Cornwall!!!

Hey heavymetalsurfer,
I used to live in Preston, you do right getting outta there. Make sure you stay away from newquay town centre in the height of summer unless you want to be reminded of the "tokes posse" of said grotty old industrial town.
Am happy for you mate,
Husky

Thanks for the replies guys!!
i'm so stoked to be moving back down, i just hope i pass my driving test quickly and dont end up having to take it loads of times! i've been saving and working really hard to afford this move.
i know all about Newquay mate, in the summer it's packed full of the Tokyo Jo types!
For those of you who havent had the pleasure of visiting Preston(?!) Tokyo Jo's is a major chav type nightclub!!

here's a tip to pass ur driving test;
drive as nervous as you can, like a scared nerd behind the wheel, I know it sounds silly, but I didn't passed the first time, cause they thought I was too relaxed and therefor danrerous???!!!(I still don't get that one)So the 2nd time I acted like a twat and I passed!!!!!!!
Seriously, it's the best advice I can give you!!!!!!
When you get ur license, we should go cruisin the coastline!!!!!!!

thanks for the advice Mouche, i'll definately drive like a geek and then when i'm all moved we should definately hook up and go for a cruise!!
seriously, when i have moved i'd love to hook up and go for a surf with some of you guys - i dont know if any of you already chill out together?
after living in Preston (close to Chav capital - Blackpool!) it'd be ace to meet some like minded people.

no I am deadly serious about that driving test of mine!!!!!
I think that when you act real nervous, the instructors think that you really reallyyyyy want to pass, and when you're all confident they think you don't really give a shit!!!
That's my experience, and that's the way it is here around belgium.
And when you don't pass the first time, get hysterical and scream that you really needed to pass so you could drive you're very ill granny to the hospital(coz ur the only family she's got that's not an alcoholic)...I'm sure they'll let you through the next time!!!!!!

I think i'll do something in between, appearing too nervous is probably bad as they'll think you're not ready to be let loose on the road. But then if you appear too confident they'd probably not like that either!
we'll see how it goes, if i fail i'm going to be absolutely gutted as i'll have to wait about 4 weeks for another test!
Mouche, i read that you're moving to Padstow? That's right next door to Wadebridge where i'll be living!! Padstow's a funny little place, kinda quaint.
Did you get your phone call yesterday?

Don't think it matters ove here mate. My friend has just passed her test after the 5th attempt and it was her nerves that let her down every time. Now she's passed tho, she drives like she's been doin it years.
