Hello Matey

Just use the search facility this forum has to offer as thousands have come before you & will after you too ( said the actress to the bishop ) in need of the same answers.

Yeah you and the rest of us outsiders!

Trouble is not many jobs (especially off season) and what there are are low paid and fiercely sought after as so many people want to do the same, not to mention the locals who need employment also.

My advice, save some money and start your own business if you really want to live permanently down there.

Wink I reckon

I realise that the locals come first and don't want to take away from them. to be fair, i'll be going back to new zealand at the end of 2006 but was really hoping to live by the sea for the next summer - am dieing out here in the midlands - have never lived away from the ocean!!! So i reckon i'm pretty buggered unless i start trying for jobs and accomodation now! it'll be hard but there has to be something - you a local?!
Any ideas for a business that only needs running for 6 months!? lol

No I'm very landlocked.

I wasn't suggesting you should put the locals 1st only pointing out that there are 2 lots of people looking for jobs, the locals and the tourists and the area is an area of high unemployment!

If you're looking for a job for next year then now certainly seems to be the right time from what I've read on here before.

You do need to get in early as so many people are looking every year.

I wish you luck and as many jobs are minimum wage because of the demand I suggest you look for cheapish accomodation with that in mind.

Click the persons name who you want to talk to,then go to their profile. You will see then a thing saying send a PM to that person.Click that, and you will go and be able to send your PM.

I hope that helps.

I don't use MSN but as I'm a gamer I do use xfire which is a free download and has instant messgaing.

PM if interested and I'll fix you up with a link to the program and my user details.

Question Help

the original question is similar to what i was trying to find out about newquay from this website, but what i also would like to know is what is the deciding statement on newquay is, is it:
1. Newquay has lost its soul to drunken weekend warriors.
2. Newquay is full of superficial surfer type wannabies.
3. Newquay still has its friendly vibe, with open arms for outsiders.
4. Newquay has still got its friendly vibe, but only for those who are local.
5. It is a mix of all the above.

I just need to know as my girlfriend and i are looking to moving into the area permanently next year and it is a big move for us so i would appreciate any comments or attitudes that would help us find the motivation and passion to make this life changing decision.
Thankyou.

Red face Water baby

I can't say why others want to move to newquay but for me, i've always live by the sea. Now i'm stuck inland and it's really getting to me!!! I love the laid back lifestyle and attitude that people from coastal areas have and having lived in new zealand for 6 years i also miss the friendly people. I don't know if newquay people will be friendly and down to earth, but there's no harm in trying - living by the sea, can surf whenever i want and have a bar job to pay my way. It all sounds too good to be true but again, if you don't try you'll never know. If you don't like it, you can always move!!!
Good luck with making your decision!

Let the waves wash over you and clean your spirit!

Answers to your question hun are as follows.
1. Mainly saturday and sunday (but not too bad the rest of the week - even better in the winter)
2. You can spot the a mile off, but once the novelty's worn off they wont get in your way again.
3. Most definitely!!
4. Only two or three of them........
