You must have laughed then when Valentino Rossi came off his bike in the first race of the Moto GP season.

But ROSSI is an absolute God when it comes to bikes & his nationality & being young just make him the way he is. If he represented the UK people would think differently, especially after FOGGY's demise through the unfortunate accident as noone has really stepped up as such to take his place.

ROSSI has successfully dominated MOTOGP from 125's to 250's then the 500's even beating MICK DOOAN's records. I love World Superbikes to bits but there is far more skill involved in MOTOGP as James Hayden found out a few years back as did Chris WALKER who both returned to SUPERBIKES after poor careers in MOTOGP.

When they put ROSSI on a WORLD SUPERBIKE last year for trials he was faster than the other riders which just goes to show his skill as its not an easy transition or vice versa.

My girlfriends eldest went to the BRITISH SUPERBIKES at BRANDS HATCH with friends a few weekends doing the whole weekend camping thing. He said it was a really good day, loads of crashes etc. but sorry to say BRITISH SUPERBIKES do absolutely nothing for me.

some good points ET. i just think rossi is a bit pretentious - he knows he's great on a superbike and i just think he shows off about it a bit much. alright, he's amazing at what he does but i feel his press coverage overshadows some other great riders who deserve recognition as well.
for example, at the end of last season, the main talking point was about rossi maybe doing F1 and little attention was given to the fact that Gregorio Lavilla won the british superbikes after having no ride/team at the start of the season or the way Ryuichi Kiyonari came 2nd in the championship after a heavy crash at mallory park (which i had a front row view of )
i don't know - i just think that there's more to bike racing than valentino rossi and he seems to be the be all and end all of it at the moment...

i have to say..british superbikes is the way forward..

That's the problem with media though isn't it. I actually for once got to read a paper today & the last few pages dedicated to sport just focus mainly on bloody football
That's the problem ... papers think we are a nation of football lovers when we're not as a WHICH survey proved recently.

I remember every time that FOGGY won the WORLD SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIPS despite being a world champion in his own sport & representing GB it got the smallest write up ever ... & more than one year running. Bloody annoying ...

& did the boat race get good coverage .... no.
