Help Please - Strange Request

Hey guys. Great site by the way.

Okay this may sound odd but I thought you'd be the ones to ask. Hope you don't mind.

I'm a model who is having some beach shots done and as I live in the City the beach is nowhere to be seen. So, I'm looking to come to Newquay and spend a day or two there having a play around with locations. Obviously, I could go nearer to home but I love Newquay and figure I could take a break at the same time.

I wondered if any of you could recommend some good places, beaches etc? I've been before but all I remember is Fistral beach and I was a bit drunk!! Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I told you it was odd!

Cheers,

P

I think the many small rocky coves are really good backdrops for shots......beware of Stewart and his telescopic lens though

Oh Keona there I go representing the main land in Jersey and upholding the good old name of Cornwall and whilst I'm there what did the security guards find on me at the airport? The knife you stuck in my back... Et Tu Bruti hahaha.

Penny, what style of shots are you having done? are you looking for beach or dramatic beach . If they are just for your portfolio and are non-commisioned work then I would surgest just a beach however if your photographer want to sell them on as well as part of the fee (dont know if you are doing a share system with free posing for free photos?) then you want a dramatic beach so that they can capture you and then capture you and the scenery to go fora more typical iconic take on the scene. Let me know and i wilsned you some places to use.

Take Care

Stew

Hey

Thanks guys.

I'm a model and actress and been offered a free shoot. Basically, it's for a new job I have interviewing rock bands so I'm after some crazy 'rock' images. Coming out of the water looking crazy! This is VERY bizarre discussing this on here!

I also will get some au natural ones but the main ones I'm after are slightly crazed rock chick ones.

I'd appreciate any advice.

I've got some slightly mad ones so that should give an idea. Okay, I feel out of my depth here (no punn intended). Blimey....

Around Newquay then TOWAN can be a good back drop with the infamous island house or the harbour. Then again you have the dramatic sweep of the bay as well at lower tides which goes right round and up towards WATERGATE.

There is also CRANTOCK BEACH with the RIVER GANNEL going up between PENTIRE and CRANTOCK which has some caves & good coastline too.

Crazy will be up to you of course as the North Cornish coast can provide some of the best back drops ever.

Apologise for having to edit your last thread but advertising of other websites isn't generally around unless the ADMINISTRATOR of the site changes his mind. Impressive CV though.

Welcome to the forum.

I was thinking that Bedruthian Steps could be very good. Its quiet so you have a lot of areas to work in and the backdrop is the best in Cornwall. You also have all that AW said plus maybe going down the coast and trying perranporth which has the dunes and long stretch of beach, or Gwithian and Hayle.
