Still halloween soon and i LOVE halloween
So how is everyone? gone mighty quiet on here
I had a great time in Newquay but agree with AW in the fact that its gone downhill, but i will still be going back.

post September is the time to go ( as well as pre September of course!)
Hi all.
It has been a while so hello to everyone.
I went to Newquay for the odd day (from Rugby...as usual) and at weekends a few times last yr after September. The fact I can't surf proper means that post Setember is great cos I am sort of a 'get out the back a few times' person then 'sod it I'll stay a little closer in cos I am knackered' person. So.... you can imagine in summer when you paddle for your life, get on a wave and then see a group of surf schoolers looking at you like rabbits in front of a car you tend to pull out of the wave and smile as you think...we all have to start somewhere...but why here! right behind me!!!!!....just as i was getting the best waves of the day!!!! etc etc etc. Anyway. We tried December 30th last yr and it turned out to be the warmest day for a while and the waves were good too...so never give up going (till Jan to April cos it is FREEEZZZING!!!). November is good too we have a rule which is 10 degrees air and water temp is fine..but the limit!. I have set off many a November/December day from Rugby at 6am and -2 degrees to get to Newquay and surf in air temps of 12 to 14 degrees ahhh....
End of chat Get out as many times as you can Oct Nov Dec cos it is great and remember....tap tap tap and the wave god will do the rest!!

never never never always wear a 3mil summer suit whatever the weather and have never been cold in the sea.i was in at tynemouth in about february this year and it was 1 degree in the sea and below freezing air temp...with snow on the beach
winter is DEFINETELY the best time to surf, especially the north sea, more low pressure and depressions mean better swells and better surf
i'm totally a winter girl

i love the first heavy downpour after the summer- you walk outside and take a lungfull of 'rain'. nothing else even comes close to that smell. its awesome and also a crisp fresh autumn morning. i also love that. where theres frost and bright sunshine
thats equally as good as a summers morning.

The good thing abot the summer is thinking of the things you didnt do, so you have all of winter to plan somehing more you can do next summer and you can look forward to it. Winter has never stopped me doing things lol im coming to Newquay in feb for 8 days lol
