Slater Greatest or Not???

So is Slater the greatest surfer that ever walked on planet thingy or do you think he gets better points sometimes just because of who he is?

I'd have to say Greatest but hey I'm a fan so. To actually watch him was so cool he just would paddle away from the others and sit there on flat sea as though he was having a rest and then a wave would appear as though he had placed an order with mother nature for it to arrive at a certain time.

personally i'm not so keen on him...i admit he's an amazing surfer but he sometimes does get more points for an average ride than he should just because of who he is. i can't remember exactly which contest it was but him and irons were in the final and irons was winning but in the last like 30 seconds slater picked up a wave that was totally average - he even wiped out at the end! - and he got a 9.5 or something. basically just cos he's slater and he's a "god"
i can see why irons has a chip on his shoulder though - i bloody would too!!

The guy has talent which is undenyable but of course he's not the best on the planet.

There will be someone out there, male or female who can carve up any swell they ride, or just ride what is thrown at them regardless of size but they have no interest in competitions.

Of course that's very helpful in a surfing competition isn't it ... well I suppose if you were judging it then that would be the clincher

I dont know about his eyes but although slater is a legend i also think judges lean towards him.
