I live in devon.. and most of the people that live here are retarded and lead boring lifes.

So where about's in Devon is lame then ???
Not as nice as my beloved Kernow but none the less its still a very part of the world to live. Especially in comparison to the sh*te whole of London I have to work in !!!

haha i wasn't using this as a dating service. A place called torquay where all the tourists love to go!! Ughhh. They love it i swear.

I used to live in Tamworth, just a stones throw from you. My mum still lives in Exhall, a little closer to you.

There is a guy I think that lives Nuneaton way who surfs, drives a pretty cool T4 Black van, seen it many times over Coventry way, near the airport.

Good to see Midland surfers. I live in St Ives now, opposite Porthmeor so thats my local break now. Failing that, I head to Gwithian, just outside Hayle.

I know a guy called Adam who's also a Midlands surfer, he lives Sutton Coldfield.

You get to surf much? Where do you surf?

The idea of being 'land locked' finally ate away at me too much so I had to follow the call of the sea. Work in a surf shop in St Ives too so my life is dedicated to the love of surfing now. My girlfriend now offically calls herself a 'surf widow'. I think there may be more of them out there too!

yeah my friend lives in exhall.. well i had my first lesson in woolacombe then surfed newquay then i went france and surfed quiberon but failed...it was too big lol. but im going newquay again at the end of the month so should be surfing some then.

I'll have to keep an eye out for the Van. was it easy to get yourself a place and a job? I really wanna do it.

It was just a case of coming down to Cornwall & checking out local estate agents etc around the area's.

We had decided to settle in St Ives so we concentrated in that area.

There are places available, you'll be looking to pay around £600 per month upwards depending upon the type & size of accomadation your looking for. There are a few adds occationally of people looking for room mates, so thats something that might be worth thinking about.

When you come down to Newquay, check out a local paper called 'The Cornish Man'. It comes out every Thursday. It has property to let as well as jobs available.

Also, check out a website called 'This is Cornwall'. Google it, its a job search engine which has many jobs on offer, thats how I found my first job.

Its a foot in the door once you've secured a job, you can then look around for something different if its not working for you, but atleast you'll have a regular wage coming in.

Wages in this area aren't the best compared to up country, but its the quality of life you'll have that'll shine through.

I've never looked back! I occationally go back to the Midlands to visit friends & family, but as for moving back to the Midlands, thats something I'll never do!

thanks I really appreciate the advice. Not many people give it these days. I'll definately check out the paper and the website. Accomodation is the main thing im worried about. but if it doesn't work this time, I gues I'll have to come home and work to get some cash. Glad your living your dream though you've done well

I'd love to move to newquay! I only live 2 hours away, but such a different place to where i live at the momment. ... Actually i would kind of like to move out of England! Everything is going down hill recently it sucks!! England is becoming a dipressing place. Weather the costs of things recently.. the people.
I'd just like to be somewhere where it has sunshine through out summer and winter and great surf!!
