To be honest a few lessons with a good surf school will get you standing far quicker. I was lucky enough to have a cousin who taught me when I was 11. If you know someone who can teach you then that's an option, if not then school it mate. Unless you can get in the water often then you'll be messing around for ages.

Most surf schools will do a 1 on 1 session insted of the whole group thing if you would prefere. Im not a big fan either but i have done 1 and it was very helpful. worth doing it then u can get out there much quicker.

If you have the cash. I do a 1 on 1 surf lesson for 2 weeks in Japan every August, you'll be surfing real good after that nearly 70 hours of surfing altogether. e-mail

hehe

Do what I did...

Went to Newquay grabbed a bored, bought a wet suit and ran out after praying for guidence.

And after being wiped out a plenty I finally starting to stand on waves and bust a few moves.

Just been reading on duck diving and other tips on the net for free all this month, so if you see some dude constantly getting wiped out and looking like a werido it be me trying to Duck Dive under waves

Come say Hi

Its Waz

lol
