Question Best Surf School in SW England?

Hi,

New to surfing have been a few times, would like to know what is the best surf school to go to in SW England we usually camp around the Polzeath area. Any thoughts?

If you've got transport then Dolphin Surf School in Newquay is excellent...

Friendly staff, good coaching and a much better instructor / student ratio than some of the other schools (particulalrly in the morning)... The hungover newbies tend to pitch up in the afternoon!

They also try to find some half decent waves, relatively uncluttered beaches (a rarity in the summer) and don't teach or charge you if it's pancake conditions...

They live at www.surfschool.co.uk

Oh don't froget to pray for some ripples, it's been utter pants recently...

Edd,

Have a look at http://121surfcoach.com/ it's run by a bloke called Chris Thomson. I've only had one lesson so far, but I'll definitely have some more when I get some spare time.

Cheers

Jay

i had my first lesson at watergate bay with the extreme acadamy there. they all seem pretty cool there and you only really need 1 half day lesson. i think it was about £20 with all equipment and they're all friendly
