How long?

I went to Newquay this summer and finally took up surfing, i had 1 lesson and then i surfed another 3 days. I am going again next year for 2 weeks and then moving in a couple of years, but i just wondered roughly how long did it take people to stand up and fully know how to get up quick etc etc.

Not sure buddy... think everyone's different.

Keep persevering. I do - some days I'm ok and next I bomb.

Just relax into it and dont worry if you have a mare,i have more mares than good days.If you get anxious or worried you tend to rush/hurry things and it can be detrimental.Practice and it will come, dont set yourself a time limit.Enjoy yourself and let things progress at your own pace,of course it can always help talking to and watching other surfers too.good luck and enjoy.kw
