Hows this board?

I'm looking to buy my first surfboard, i go surfing most summers and have no problem standing up and riding the wave in. Do you think this board would be okay for me to learn on? I know your all going to probably recommend min mals but i'll be able to progress for longer on this board but i may be wrong.

I'm 5'6 130lbs by the way - but still growing

The board is quite wide and of reasonable thickness so it should be almost as stable as a mini mal. But do you think 6'11 is okay? I measured it out and it seems right. Also it's hand shaped

I haven't got enough experience to give you advice on a board but welcome to the forum.

Fella, use this link below :

Give either Sunset surf a call or Tunnel Vision & see what they say. Admittedly this list needs updating somewhat but both are quite reliable in regards to their advice.

General rule of thumb though when learning, bigger & wider is easier.

STARFISH on here knows a good place too but I can't remember what its called.
