Another annoying board question...

Hey guys!

I've been bodyboarding for years (with fins and riding swells, not the annoying tourist jump-into-wave-style) and I'm looking to get a stand up board as well. I've had some lessons and got the hang of it no problems, so I was hoping to buy rather than only be able to rent at the bigger beaches.

I know bigger is better, but I can't really get a board bigger than 6'8" in my car, and I can't afford a new car as well, lol, so I was wondering what your opinion is on a fish board? I'm 6'1" and 85kgs (semi-weightlifter, so I'm not very wide at the waist if that makes a difference.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any experience on the fishes that you guys have had, and thanks for helping out another annoying new user looking for advice!

Cheers!
Yojan

hi
welcome to the forum, i guess the best thing to do is go and hire a 6'8" board and see how you get on. Failing that get your self a roof rack lol
Good luck

Well you could try out a larger fish or given you background you may get on with a greenough style knee board (though thats not qite the same as a stand up board it will add another dimention to your surfing, either way I'd see if you can borrow or hire first to see if you get on with it then go chat to your local shaper for advise. or get a roof rack
