Board help

I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice please.
I went surfing for the first time last year on holiday. The first board I tried was a 8ft foam board. I popped up first time first wave and surfed in and by the end of my session i was turning on the wave. The second day I got taken to a reef and I got a 7,10 minimal and on my third day I was on a 7,6 minimal and I was able to surf to the beach and turn on the wave.
So I was wondering what is the best board for me to get? If I can pick up surfing this quickly should I get a short board or something else?
Any advice would be much appreciated!

My only advice is not to jump to a short board to quickly. But if your heart as set on a new board, hire one out first to see how you get on with it.

Its better to have a longer board you can surf on,than a flashy shortboard you cant surf on.

Thanks, Im looking at two boards. Either a Bic Mini mal 7,3" or a take off 7" epoxy. Which one do you think I should get? or can you recommend a board?

Epoxy boards are bullet proof so as your learning Id think about that....getting a nice new fancy board will end in tears and you'll smash it up in no time. Keep to the minimal and you'll advance much quicker and you'll be looking like Slater in no time with your spanking new shortboard, plus you'll be able to surf like him.....Stormrider has a point, hire one out and you'll know if your good enough. However the most fatal mistake is going for a board you cant surf on...and could set you back months!

I would also advise going to a proper surfshop,as they would ask questions about skill levals and take your weight and height into consideration.
