one of my favorite surfing moments ever was on Towan beach.
after a particularly heavy night decided to go and clear my head in the foam, not good enough for my mini mal so i decided to take my body board down to Towan. i was out for an hour of so when two shandy drinkers came paddling in white in the face shouting shark. One of the lifeguards came out on his knee board to investigate and i followed him once i stopped laughing and peeing in my wetsuit to find a family of dolphins hanging about. we kept our distance but the inquisative nature of them they came too see what we were doing and on a couple of occasions followed us in on the waves. very spiritual moment and one i'll never forget. another reason why Newquay never fails to suprise me even after all these years.
