Memories!

Used to go on family holidays there every year, used to stay on some dodgy caravan site right at the top of the cliff

I have a caravan in st agnes from easter to october so i tend to go to porhtowan quite a bit , the main reason is that chapel porth is unsurfable at high tide (the two beaches join together at low tide) where as porthtowan can be surfed at any time.
the worst thing about this beach is the parking, i go down there at about 9.00am and park near the lifeguard hut (afew feet from the beach) and usually later on at teatime but in summer getting a space can be hard work.
dont go down with the family much as we have some dogs and theres a ban so we tend to spend the days at holywell or crantoc.
theres a londis down there and a post office , also a bodyboard-surf shop not forgetting the pub and the blue bar http://webcam.blue-bar.co.uk/
be carefull with the rips ive been caught out afew times but there is a lifeguard service in season.
i usually head back up the hill to st agnes with red raw eyes and a massive grin when its good
happy surfing

Youll be happy to know the "dodgy" caravan site will be know more.. the site owners have "ordered all caravans off.. at a loss to all caravan owners....but it will still be a dodgy site as it will still be owned by the same owners..
