personally i don't like NSP boards but they are a good starter board and don't have the 'seem' of bic boards which tend to split

please don't read any animosity into this post, but why buy an off the rack, pop-out board, when you can get a custom board? you will be getting a unique board, and supporting your local community.

by the way, all the claims that these boards are more enviromentally friendly is crap, and all foam/resin comes from the same oil well, the factories are not regulated for emiisions/pollution, and the workers are not provided protective gear... the same thing as buying shoes made in a sri lanka sweatshop.

just my opinion - which you can say is biased as i am a shaper - but if you want a board that will last, and not look cheap, you should get a 'real' board, and support your local crew.

you can also make your own board. it is easier than you think. homeblown sells board kits, and you don't reallu need many tools. how cool is it to ride a board that you made?

good luck, and happy surfing.

looked at the nsp website, and to answer you question, it looks like it should work just fine.

but, one thing that still bothers me - not usually so opinionated, i swear - is that they are saying that a fish is good 1st shortboard. this could not be further from the truth. fish are not beginner's boards. the are very fast, very loose, and very small. not exactly the same as a big tri, or even a funboard.

just be careful of what people tell you about boards, and do some research into what shapes actually do what.

good luck, happy surfing
