Hi everyone, i really want to come down for newquay for the summer and find a job with accomodation provided. im not all that fussed what type of job anything from working in a hostel/ campsite to bar/hotel.
Was just wondering if anyone could give me some suggestions, know its quite early to start looking but would really appreciate some advice from locals....

me and a mate are goin down for the summer probably starting in may/june, we wanna get jobs down there as well and as far as i've been told there are loads and loads of jobs its more a case of getting a half descent one.

We haven't looked into accomodation too much but i spoke to a guy on this forum the other day and he reckons rented accomodation is very expensive down there so i think your on the right lines by getting a job with a place to stay included.

Job wise theres a recruitment agency called Aztec Recruitment, they are supposedly good when it comes to finding what u want so i'd try them. U can send ur CV to them on their website www.aztecrecruitment.co.uk

You have a lot of options. You can work in restaurants, small businesses, retail stores, amusement parks, summer camps and so on. There is a job out there to fit almost any personality. You can work at a place like an amusement where you can learn a lot about business and human nature . You can volunteer at any number of places: hospitals, shelters, clinics, summer youth programs, etc. You will not get any money, but the experience can be invaluable.

I'm looking at coming down to Newquay on Friday 12th June on my own.

Looks like I'm gonna camp for a week and see what i can find in the way of a job!

Does anyone know at what point the season starts to pick up?

Or whether the jobfront is looking viable at the minute?

Any info would be great.

Nic, season has already begun fella as it usually does after Easter. The big influx times are :

01.) When penny pinching social stealing get a bleedin job students finish their exams & invade between June & July
02.) School break up & families come down from July onwards.
03.) Factories 'oop north' close for their months summer holidays.

July & August are the real peak times though with September normally the end & its back to just weekends with the stag & hen do's.
