I saw Blue Crush on a flight from Los Angeles to Hawaii last December. Film is ok, it certainly helped make my flight seem shorter ( after 14-15 hours on a plane already ). I say ok, as it is worth a look, but it isn’t top movie. Some surfing scenes are excellent, and you also get an insight into the Hawaiian way of life (if you haven't been there yourself already). So to conclude, I recommend this film, you won't be disappointed.

I wonder which movie they are going to play on my flight there this December....

Its a shame you cant book certain films for when you are flying out to surf spots. It would be great to get you into the mood for surfing.

Yeah, I agree. Blue Crush was the perfect movie to watch on a flight to Hawaii. Plot did not matter. What was important was to see the landscape, sun, surf, beaches and the way of life in general. I was so excited to see the scenery that I was heading towards. But it was difficult to imagine warm climate, as hours before we were in the freezing London.

This year I doubt I'll watch surfing inflight film. Flight from SF takes around 5 hours. With two meals/snacks, take-off, landing, visit to toilet, looking through the plane window (wondering if I would survive the fall from that hight ) and some sleep, trip will go fast.

Flying is a funny business to me. To be honest, I hate it. I like to have my three feet on the solid ground. But once I am flying, I enjoy it. I get filled with awe at how we (humans) created these machines that beat gravity, and fly us to a distant corners of the world, in a matter of hours. Awesome. Worst case scenario? Sitting in the plane that is free-falling towards the ground, and everyone on-board knows it. What do you think and do while those seconds are ticking away? Arghh....

I have always felt safer flying in a 747 Jumbo jet, than an small island hopper plane.Well, less than 200 days to go before you see the next in-flight film.

Blue Crush

Went to see the film with the missus. The plot is crap, all slushy and it is so obvious what is going to happen, but the surfing scenes are absolutely fantastic, well worth going to see, oh, and that anne-marie bird is absolutely gorgeous!!!!

Stormrider, you probably watched the 'Surf Film' Blue Crush (the original, with Serena Brooke and gang), not the 'Holywood Film about Surfing.

Bought the Blue Crush video a while back (not realising there were two films by that name), bloke in the shop didn't warn me either (which I think is a bit rude).

Thumbs up blue crush(rental)

After seeing some trailers for Blue Crush iv'e been waiting for it to be released on video(as i was away when it got shown on the big screen)as it looked awesome.Knowing beforehand that the plot was nothing new,it was the surf scenes i was looking forward to.

Saw it today and was very impressed. It was cool and i agree with Deano that the actress(Kate Bosworth)is hot. What better than to see her in sufr gear,on great location, beatuful waves....mmm maybe actually being there, hey..?
