Hi all,
A group of us are heading to Newquay this summer. Couple of experienced surfers, rest of us are beginners.
Basically I'm looking for one or two great surf films for us to watch before we head off. Not to learn from, but basically to blow the other guys away (as in, "Amazing - how's it possible to surf like *that*...?!?")
I've narrowed it down to a choice of the following:-
1. Endless Summer (1964)
2. Endless Summer II (1994)
3. Crystal Voyager (1972)
4. Jack Johnson - The September Sessions (2002)
If anyone has any comments on the above, would recommend one over the others as an *ultimate* surf film, or wants to rank them I'd really appreciate the feedback before I fork out for one or two of them. Have had a look on the internet but reviews of the above don't really tell you much about the actual content. Also, obviously if there's a great film I've missed, let me know!
I'm looking for something that has a lot of actual wave-riding rather than a storyline / non-surf action - the film(s) will be on in the background at our pre-trip farewell party so continuous waves (or as close as possible) is what I'm after. I already have "Big Wednesday" - great film, but not what I'm looking for here (too much plot and on-shore stuff) - want to get lost in wave after wave...
Cheers,
Elegant Chaos
