Coming to Newquay

Hello. I am very excited bc I just booked a trip to Newquay for March 12-14. I will be needing to rent equipment, bc all of my stuff is at home in the States (I'm at university in London for the year). I will be needing a winter suit and all that, plus a board. I'm assuming that all that will be available is mini-mals, which is cool. Any recommendations for the best shop to rent from? Also, I've never been to the area, any must do/ must see things in Newquay? I'm going to be on the trip on my own, so if anyone wants to meet and surf, or hang out... meeting some surfing locals would be cool...

Thanks for the help!

aloha

There should be plenty of boards to hire this time of year plus suits. Best thing to do is to go round the surf shops and see if you can find something you'd like. Start at FSC down by the train station. You'll be able to hire any type of board, just a case of finding a good one. Not really much you can get to see down here in a couple of days without transport. Hopefully the surf'll be good and you'll be in the water for most of it.

Hey! Thanks a lot for the offer! I really wish I could join you. Unfortunately I will be home in the US for break while you are on your trip. Hopefully I will get a chance to catch some waves while I'm home (though I will have to brave some very very cold water to do it), and I hope you get some good swell in Newquay for your trip!
