is my board to small for me?

I dont admit to know alot about surfing but i recently brought my first short board and I got measured up for it I am 12.5 stone 5'10" . I recieved my board and I specifically asked they make it a bit longer than usual and a bit wider because i was new to short boards. The board I recieved from the company was 6' 10" x 20" x 2.5". Do you think this is to small for me becuase i recently tested it out and I feel a sinking motion when riding a wave.

thanks alot

Jon

been surfin for nearly 2 years off and on but with a long board and i never get that sinking feeling, but you are right the waves were pretty tragic on that day very mushy I guess I need some more practice! Thanks for your reply I am glad its the user and not the board who is the fault because I would of just blown 400 quid on nothing.

cheers jon

Sounds okay to me too buddy

Thing with the ole long boards is you can ride it just as well in half a foot of mush to a clean four foot wave ... experience depending of course! Sounds like whoever supplied you did okay.
