Talking I got a new Board!

A bit late as I've actually had the board about 3 weeks now, but I've had myself a 9'1"x 23"x3" Noserider made for me by Will Eastham at Surfboards UK in town. I've managed to get in and use it about 6 times now, and i'm absolutely chuffed with it.

Had a good chat with Will to discuss what I wanted out of the board before he made it, checked what I had been riding up to then, and he was happy to give me plenty of advice on what I should be going for before he made the board.

He did an excellent job on the board, and I was up and riding it on the first wave I paddled in for, even though the conditions were far from perfect and pretty chunky down at Lusty Glaze. And then caught just about every wave I tried for afterwards The board did exactly what Will said it would, and felt really natural and stable to ride.

I have never used the 'S' word before, but I have to say, I was totally Stoked!

Haven't had a chance to get out there when the conditions have been that clean, but even so, the boards worked well every time I've been out. Can't wait till I can get out there on some clean, 2-3ft surf, when I'm sure it'll work really well

I'd thouroughly recommend Will if anyones looking for a custom made board, he did a fantastic job, (at a really good price too.) He's also done a great job of repairing my old board, which I had managed to drop coming up the steps at Towan leading to the harbour car park.

Just thought I'd share that people.

Thanks Starfish

Would you believe we had that perfect surf I've been waiting for down here this weekend, and I haven't been able to get in.

Got the absolute mother of all head colds just before the weekend, and I haven't even got the strength to pull a wetsuit on (no, make that a rash vest,) let alone carry my board down to the beach

Bummer.

Still, fingers crossed for some surf next weekend, eh?

Hope the surfs been ok for ya up your way BTW

Sounds great. Congratulations!

Could you post contact details for Will ('where there's Will, there's a way' ), as it looks like you had nothing but great experience, and I need somebody to repair couple of my boards (one fin fell off and couple of dings need patching).

I built my own minimal with cloth strip glassed in, and even now I wonder how the hell did I build a board like that from start to finish on my own and in my spare bedroom in London!!!

No problem Ivan, happy to give him a recommendation. Wills got a website at:-

www.surfboardsuk.com

Tell him that Wayne recommended him to you when you get hold of him.

One thing I forgot to mention before was that he wants to come out for a surf with me to see how the new board performs as well, and to give me a few tips.

Bit of a scary prospect for me that - going for a surf with an ex-european Longboard champ - but I'm looking forward to it

P.s. Have sent you a PM by the way.
