Paddle surfing dates back a long way (Yes AW it's even older than me!!) Was big in the 60's with photographers. Laird got into it a while back and when some one that big picks it up it doesn't take long to start spreading again.
The old Newquay Surf Centre which is now Tad n Niks Internet Cafe on FORE STREET use to sell these !!!
Haven't seen anyone in ages doing this round the towns beaches, but Harbour Sports in Plymouth also sells them still as well.
