Contact Lenses ...

Before people post "Should have gone to Specsavers" MINI-MAL PM'd me this question which I thought was quite relevant to the forum :

"I wear contact lenses and I surf in my contact lenses. But it is expensive in the long run & as I have just moved the opticians is quite a long way away to travel. Basically I want to know how do I get around losing the contact lenses without my fiancé shouting orders at me as my eyes or looking like a plank in prescription scuba goggles Thanks".

So then forum, any ideas ???

Well the cheapest place I have found to get contacts is...Yes you guessed it Specsavers online.

Why do you keep lossing them? Apart from being a women that is? Close your eyes on the way down end of story.

I have been surfing with lenses for years, and have never lost a pair (only time i lost a lens was at a water ride at butlins lol)

I have Daily lenses, as suggested by my optician for surfing, but previously had monthlys and was surfing.

I would have a word with our optician, because i dont think you should be losing them all the time whilst surfing, i have changed makes a few times, and i used to have Focus Dailies, had no problem wearing them in the sea, and now wear Bio something lol might be worth switching makes.

I pay roughly £25 a month for a months supply.

Hope that helps

I have switched to the ones you throw away after one day. I always take my glasses with me so even if I loose one I can drive home. I'm a student and find this the cheapest way too.

I find the more I have been surfing the less I loose them, but surfing france I would loose them every time.. I think it's normal to loose them if its heavy surf and your ripping, if its mellow and your on your longboard you'll not loose 'em

Get Daily Disposables. I've been using this site for years, good service, only ever one hiccup and that was a longish wait for dlivery when stock ran out.

VisionDirect.co.uk - Contact Lenses

Way cheaper than Specsavers.

Also, get some surfing shades, they've not perfect - they can steam and do reduce your field of vision slightly, but they do stop contacts washing out by slowing the big rush of water (they're not water tight). I've been using some for 3 years now as I wear contacts. Juts looks like you're some cool dude wearing shades when out back:
