how old is your gear

I'm giving in i can't fit in my Gul Titanium wetsuit after 13 years the seams and zip have finally given up the ghost, i've always kept it because it keeps me in shape and usually reminds me to step up the fitness and loose the winter fat and also i'm a tight sod (son of a yorkshireman) cue backlash

so
Atuna bodyboard - 16 years old
Gul Titanium Wetsuit - 13 years old
Longboard House Mini Mal - 3 years old
Fins - about 9 years old
Rash vest - 5 years old

Board(s): 12 years oldest - Nigel Semmens short and minimal, and around 10 boards I made myself but all in custody of my ex .
BodyGlove wetsuit 5/3: around 6 years old, used once to swim in . Great wettie but I spent last six years looking myself in the mirror and thinking I look pro in it .
Partially used Sex-Wax: 12 years old.
Memory of a near drowning: 11 years old (@ Croyde )

@ keona w:

What on earth is in your sig image? Story please.

OMG only just seen this ivan, sorry dude. The pic was taken just after a exhausting ,near drowning...due to huge seas in a freezing cold session at cayton. My arms were numb and id tried to get my suit off for ten mins.In the end i decided "F**k it,i ll just sleep here and if i die bury me in my suit "

The session had been great but got caught by a big wave, spent an eternity in a "washing machine" roll, totally diorientated and actually hit the bottom before hitting the surface and meeting big wave no2 .Then got swept along by strong current .Did the right things i think and didnt swim against it but by time i got back in i had arms like popeye.

At cayton there is also a very very steep climb back to the surf shop and showers

in summary, the pic is me collapsed

That has got to be one of the worst! The Cayton climb, it makes Perran Sands seem easy

Ha ha....that sure is some old kit.....dont worry, ive only just changed my wettie after 4 years and we have our own shop!! Its how you feel in the gear and how practical that really matters. If you feel comfortable in everything, it'll transpire into your sesh. We;ve met loads of people who huff and puff about new things they have whether its fins, boots or wettie's and there's no way they can enjoy it as much!
