Some Queries

Hi,

I'm 17 and have been surfing alot.. Not got my own board yet, but that's only a matter of time. I'm just asking as I am going to visit cornwall this year if you think a 17 year old would be able to hire a board for 5-6 days from a surf shop, because I have asked a few and some say that they require credit card information, well I dont have a credit card! I'm not going with my parents either so I was just wondering what do you think? Am I over reacting or will there be no places to hire from?

Thanks..

Dude, you have given an impossible question!

Cornwall is a big place bro!
At 17 you want to hire a board for a week? So you have transport ? or will you be dragging a hired board through a town?

Mate there are places you can hire from but to be honest, they will want it back and as a business they will need ID.
More info needed.

Take the following & you should be fine ...

01 - CASH !!!
02 - DRIVING LICENCE (both parts &/OR PASSPORT for ID)
03 - PROOF OF WHERE YOU ARE STAYING - receipt of deposit

Now before you say I don't have a driving licence or passport then your last three bank statements for example. Just use your common sense & apply for a provisional as its a good proof of age. Also when you get to your accommodation ask them if they could provide something as proof of your staying there.

You can also now get these prepaid visa/mastercards as well which act the same as a credit card & I don't think there's a problem with being 17 to apply for one.

Hope that helps
