British Junior Squad Training Weekend: 24th & 25th April 2004
Twenty five of the best British junior surfing talent turned up for the first weekend squad training session of the year and were blessed with classic conditions, the best swell and weather of the year.
The surfers were greeted with 5ft clean offshore conditions and glorious sunshine. This made for a fantastic weekend with all the Groms, revelling in the waves at Fistral Beach, Newquay.
The great surf was a massive bonus for the squad and enabled all concerned to display their talents.
BSA Head Coach Barrie Hall was very pleased with the sessions and commented ‘what an excellent weekend to kick start the season. This has been an invaluable experience for the squad and coaches to analyse the strengths and weaknesses in surfing performance and set out a development plan for the year.’
The British Surfing Association plans on three more scheduled training weekends for the Junior squad for 2004 amoungst other activities to help the future surfer stars improve their skills.
The training session took place at the new BSA headquarters at Fistral Beach Newquay.
