Billabong and Jack McCoy Bring Surf Films Back to the Big Screen this Summer
Billabong, the leading surfwear company and Jack McCoy, one of the greatest surf cinematographers, present the Billabong and Jack McCoy Surf Film Festival, coming to Europe this summer. The Billabong and Jack McCoy Surf Film Festival will showcase McCoy's latest production Blue Horizon in cinemas across UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain throughout August.
Bringing surf films back to the big screen, Jack McCoy’s Blue Horizon has already received rave reviews from audiences in the US and Australia and is coming to the UK for two exclusive coastal screenings on 11th and 12th August in Bournemouth and Plymouth.
Blue Horizon takes a cultural look at the difference between the high profile lifestyle of world class competition surfing, diametrically opposed the world of free or soul surfers who surf for the love and the exhilaration that the world’s oceans provide. Blue Horizon answers the question – “What do you get when you mix one of the world’s best competitive surfers with one of the world’s best free surfers?” Staring current world surfing champion Andy Irons, and well known ‘soul surfer’ Dave ‘Rasta’ Rastovich, the film follows their unique and contrasting lifestyles over the past two years.
Taking viewers to new surf territory in exotic locations around the world, Blue Horizon features not only state of the art surfing and photography, but also provides an insight into the history of the sport.
