You could take a couple of days to drive up to Newquay, rather do the journey in one go.You could always fly up to Newquay now,it saves a lot of time.

Old thread I know but ROAD TRIP

Could be done in a day if you go M25, M3 & then the A303 down to Exeter.
Then choose between the A30 or the A38 (Longer scenic route) over IZZIES bridge after Plymouth

oh i love a good road trip, 12 hours with your foot stuck in one position all night. the smell of oil in the air its great. i have to say i wouldnt bother doing it in any other classic car though. we only take the van cus it makes camping sooo much better and its really useful when out in the day being able to sit in it (in the rain lol) and have loads of food in the fridge etc. if it was just a car i would take by daily, can do the trip in 4-5 hours then and more chance of getting there lol

i'd say road trip all the way
where's the fun in driving somewhere in a car that looks like everyone elses and in a car you know is going to get there?! you need some excitement along the way such as "will i get there? won't i get there?!" makes the trip all the more eventful
i've got a 206 which has definetely seen better days and i swear one day soon the exhaust is actually going to fall off but dammit i'm coming to newquay in it may take me a while but i'll get there in the end.....which means i'll appreciate the place more when i am there
(i had a mate who drove a mini down to newquay from newcastle on nothing but A roads...needless to say it took a fair few hours oh, and a stone from the road smashed his windscreen on the way back )
